In addition to making a beautiful bead pendant this item can be opened up and used as a setting. In the second photo I used this bead to wrap around a 40x30mm jasper bead. I added a head pin, a jump ring and small chain to make a dramatic necklace using a natural gemstone. This is a sturdy brass bead which can be manipulated for use in many different projects. Willie Zuniga used this bead opened up and wrapped around the back of another setting to disguise a missing prong on the setting.
